EDEN DUNDEE: GROWING A CLIMATE POSITIVE ECONOMY

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24, 2024

Join us for The Courier Business Conference 2024 as we examine the economic potential of Eden Dundee, the first Scottish outpost of the world renowned and phenomenally successful Eden Project.

A must attend half-day event brought to you by The Courier in partnership with our long-term partners Henderson Loggie, this year’s conference will be held in the new £5 million Innovation Hub at MSIP Dundee and will inform, engage and inspire attendees in equal measure.

Across two exciting sessions, our expert speakers and panellists will lay out the vision of the £130 million Eden Dundee project, talk about how your business can get involved as a potential supplier or partner and explore the economic potential of a new nationally significant tourist attraction on the banks of the Tay.

And you will leave inspired thanks to our keynote address from Pierre-Yves Gerbeau, a global business leader and entrepreneur who will share his insights from a stellar career which has included revitalising Disneyland Paris, leading London’s Millennium Dome and playing a central role in France’s bid to host the 2030 Winter Olympics.

A huge fan of the original Eden Project, PY will give his view of the Dundee scheme and how it can become an economic, climate positive beacon for Scotland.

Inform – session sponsored by Barnetts Toyota

Our first session will showcase Eden Dundee and outline how businesses might partner with the project.

Engage – session sponsored by McLaughlin & Harvey

Our second session will be a panel debate facilitated by Dundee City Council leader John Alexander and featuring DC Thomson CEO David Thomson, Scottish Canals chair and SportScotland vice chair Maureen Campbell and Eden Dundee Project Engagement Manager Caishlan Sweeney.

Keynote Speaker

  • Pierre-Yves Gerbeau

With one of the most varied business careers around, PY Gerbeau has a track record of taking on big corporate challenges and turning around struggling organisations, often under intense public scrutiny and stakeholder pressure. His businesses have always placed customers at their centre, whilst also addressing profit, reputation, and frequently issues such as regulation, planning and government involvement. As well as practical, cultural and leadership challenges, many of PY’s projects have been highly visible, subject to intense media and public scrutiny, even extending to a sense that some people were willing them to fail.
