SSE

SSE is the leading generator of renewable electricity in the UK and Ireland, providing energy needed today while building a better world of energy for tomorrow. It develops and operates low-carbon infrastructure supporting the net zero transition, including onshore and offshore wind, hydro power, electricity transmission and distribution grids, and efficient gas-fired generation, alongside providing energy products and services for businesses.

Through its renewable energy business SSE Renewables, SSE has the largest offshore wind pipeline in the UK – the world’s largest offshore wind market – and is building more offshore wind than any other company globally. This includes the world’s largest offshore wind farm, the 3.6GW Dogger Bank, off the North coast of England and the 1.1GW Seagreen in the Firth of Forth, which will be Scotland’s largest and the world’s deepest, fixed-bottom offshore wind farm. SSE is also building what will be Europe’s most productive onshore wind farm, the 443MW Viking Wind Firm in the Shetland Isles.

SSE is UK listed, with interests across Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland. It has recently begun exporting its renewables capability and skills internationally to Japan, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Poland and the US to the globe go net zero. It employs 10,000 people and is Real Living Wage and Fair Tax Mark accredited.
