What are The Courier Business Awards and what do they aim to do?
The awards were set up to find and celebrate the best in the world of commerce in East Central Scotland. They serve to identify and reward entrepreneurs and innovators and recognise the region’s finest products and produce.
This year, entries are invited in twelve categories and all submissions will be considered for the Business of the Year Award. Further to this, an Outstanding Contribution Award will be made to an individual chosen by the judging panel.
What are the benefits of entering?
Entering The Courier Business Awards provides an opportunity to review key areas of success, and what contributed to it. Putting your business forward to The Courier Business Awards gives you the chance to be benchmarked against peers and competitors whilst raising your profile in the local area.
Who can enter/eligibility?
The awards are open to any business of any size which is headquartered or has significant business and employment interests in the Dundee, Perthshire, Fife, Angus and The Mearns, Stirlingshire and/or Clackmannanshire areas.

What are the criteria?

Entering multiple categories?
Companies can enter as many categories as desired and a separate entry form must be completed for each category along with any supporting evidence.
Is there an entry fee?
There is no cost for entering The Courier Business Awards 2016.
What is the closing date?
The entry period will close on Friday, 15 July, 2016 at 5pm. Any submissions received after this date will not be considered.
What is the judging process?
All entries will be judged on the criteria outlined in the category section. The panel will meet to decide on a shortlist and subsequent winner for each category. All shortlisted companies will be visited by representatives of The Courier and Henderson Loggie.
When will the shortlist be revealed?
The shortlist will be announced in paper and online in September. If you have been shortlisted, you will be contacted by a member of the DC Thomson Events Team prior to this. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Saturday, 29 October, 2016.
When and where is the awards ceremony?
The Courier Business Awards 2016 ceremony and dinner will be held at Apex Dundee on Saturday, 29 October, 2016.
