Energy Transition

VIRTUAL EVENT

FREE REGISTRATION

The Press & Journal in association with Royal Bank of Scotland are delighted to bring to you the second of our Virtual Business Breakfasts of 2021.

Renewable energy, low carbon, net-zero – these phrases are now at the heart of business life across

most sectors of the region’s economy.  But what does that mean for firms in 2021 and how much

has changed since before the Covid-19 pandemic? How well are the region’s businesses adapting to

life through and beyond the energy transition?  Aberdeen, in particular, has relied on the North sea

oil and gas industry for so long, so how are firms in the Granite City adjusting to a rapidly changing

economy and what kind of help and support is out there for them?

Who is driving the change?

We will be looking at these issues and more in The Press and Journal Business Breakfast.

VIRTUAL EVENT – FREE REGISTRATION

Hydrogen is increasingly touted as the answer to almost any energy transition question.

Should it be used for heating? For driving cars and aeroplanes? For storing electricity? As the next step for oil and gas producers?

There is a lot of buzz around the element’s potential to reshape energy and the economy. But what is the reality?

Energy Voice, in association with Deloitte, Fasken and Costain, are delighted to present a virtual event series that digs deeper into the prospects for hydrogen in order to separate the hard facts from the hype.

The first in this series of events, “Making the market” was held on April 29. This acted as the scene setter for the series and looked at the building blocks necessary for the emerging hydrogen market.

The second session on “Projects, infrastructure and finance” was held in June 17 and looked at where the money is flowing, which projects are the game changers and how infrastructure – existing or new – supports them.

The theme for Session 3 was “Policy focus & COP26 reflection” and was held on November 18. It looked at the policy requirements for a sustainable hydrogen economy and reflected on the recently-finished COP26.

Finally, the “Where next?” session on February 24, 2022 will take stock of the insight that has gone before and set the scene for the next stage in the evolution of hydrogen.

Register today to hear from the experts and join the conversation about hydrogen’s future role in the global energy system.

The cHeRries Conference

Thursday 13th June, 2024

P&J Live, Aberdeen

The cHeRries Conference in association with Mattioli Woods was established in 2021, complimenting the already successful cHeRries Awards.

The conference endeavours to support Human Resources professionals and Business Leaders nurture excellence in people and organisational effectiveness.

Human Resources is in perpetual motion — a dynamic relationship of technological advancements, shifting demographics and evolving workplace dynamics.

Delegates at this year’s conference will engage in workshops, panel discussions and networking sessions, where shared insights will ripple far beyond the walls of the conference centre.

Our sessions for the day are as follows:

Tomorrow’s AI Workplace – sponsored by Mattioli Woods
Join us for a unique session on how you can maintain your talent in the workplace using artificial intelligence (AI) and technology. By looking at your current talent management and where you want to grow, we will discuss how new technology and AI can positively impact retention through talent management, identifying succession.

Thrive Don’t Survive – sponsored by Hunter Adams
Whilst we cannot predict the future, one thing we can be sure of is that the world of work is changing. Join us as we look ahead and unpack the trends that could transform the workplace and the way we work, giving an informed perspective on how to thrive, not just survive.

AI: Real Challenges – sponsored by Burness Paull
The potential for AI to revolutionise the workplace is undeniable. The ability to automate repetitive tasks, reduce costs and increase efficiency are all widely recognised as benefits that AI can bring. However, AI can also pose challenges where it is misused, misunderstood or misapplied. Join us for a unique and interactive session which explores some of the employment law challenges that AI may bring and discuss with us how these may be overcome.

Maximise Your Impact – sponsored by Lang&Co
Our workshop will see delegates introduced to Lumina Spark. The workshop will give delegates an opportunity to explore their personality, in particular their over extensions. Over extending can result in negative impact to self and others and increased stress. Together whilst networking we will explore our over extensions as well as other areas of our personality.

Africa Rising

FREE VIRTUAL EVENT

2pm (GMT) Wednesday 2nd December, 2020

The energy sector in Sub-Saharan Africa faces numerous challenges, but there is also an increasing sense of urgency and opportunity for the development of the industry on the continent.

Fasken is delighted to launch the Africa Rising report, which will provide insights and learnings into how this region is changing and adapting in the face of everything that 2020 has to offer.

Africa Rising was written in association with Energy Voice. The report follows the entire arc of energy in Africa, from upstream exploration through to the delivery of electricity.

Even before the onset of COVID-19, it was clear change was coming. This speed of change has accelerated though and sub-Saharan Africa is diversifying from its focus on exports to a broader-based energy sector, which can also deliver power more widely.

Presenting some of the findings from the report, Fasken and Energy Voice invite you to sign up to the launch event on December 2nd, 2020 at 2pm (GMT).

ETIDEX

HYBRID EVENT – FREE REGISTRATION

Thursday 3rd November, 2022

08:55 – 15:30 (GMT)

Join us virtually or in person at Aberdeen Science Centre

How do we maintain momentum in the energy transition in an era of energy insecurity?

This key question challenges policymakers around the world as the price of energy skyrockets and consumers face crippling bills.

But the switch to clean energy is critical to solving the energy trilemma and debate on how to achieve this in a sustainable and cost efficient way is essential.

With this in mind Energy Voice is proud to bring you our third ETIDEX conference. This year’s event will take place at the Aberdeen Science Centre, in recognition of the innovative thinking and technological advances needed to drive the transition forward.

Our in-person audience will be joined by a large online cohort from around the world to hear from a select group of energy leaders as they exchange ideas across three key sessions.

Session 1 – Energy Transition Forum

The Forum is the principal session of the ETIDEX events. This session will kick off the event by teeing up some of the major themes currently shaping the energy transition.

Session 2 – The Hydrogen Hub

This session will look at the evolution of the hydrogen economy. It will pick up on and develop the key themes surfaced in our highly successful four-part Tracking Transition series on Hydrogen.

Session 3 – Offshore Wind, INTOG & Electrification

The Innovation and Targeted Oil and Gas (INTOG) offshore wind leasing process is key to efforts to power oil and gas infrastructure with green electricity. This session will look at the process, the bidders and the technology that will reshape how offshore platforms are powered with broader consideration of the offshore wind sector.
